I posted this bit on one of my recent wallpaper posts in response to a user-group or two that didn't seem to like my wallpaper art and thinking it may be art theft.

"For anyone out there that may think I steal this artwork. This is not the case. For nearly 5 years I have been making wallpapers for the community and all the art is credited to the author or to blizzard. The only stuff I have originally built from scratch are my fiery runes, my Kal rune, some of my fan art, and parts of the Christmas Goat Hill Tavern fan art.

Some groups I have submitted to seem to feel that way so I wanted to bring this notice to bare now. My works are a form of fan art as well. Just in a different form. Sorry for the long ramble; I hope you understand. Thanks and see you next time. HK"

I just wanted to make this clear for everyone. Thank you and I will see you all next time!

I had that issue with some groups. They tend to frown on "fanart wallpapers" and essentially demand original content. It's pretty much why I've been doing a lot less wallpapers and doing more handmade art.

I was wondering why you didn't make as many wallpapers as time went on. It's just annoying to me that if a person can make a wallpaper with existing pieces of work. It's just like using stock art to make work. But still giving credit to all in the work and just taking credit for the arrangement.

I still sometimes make wallpapers for my personal use, but I've learned to go beyond wallpapers for the sake of improving my art. Less stock images, less copyrighted images, more of my style. This is one of my biggest failures: [link] because it's so cartoony. I have yet to learn how to make my art more gritty, dark, detailed without a tablet and texturing.
